Ethiopian Airlines has been bestowed with the ‘Outstanding Tourism Transportation Award’ at the 2024 Africa Tourism Leadership Forum (ATLF).
“We are honored to receive this prestigious award,” Mesfin Tasew, Group CEO of Ethiopian Airlines, said at the forum held in Gaborone, Botswana, on Thursday.
The ATLF Award recognizes tourism transportation organizations that deliver the highest standards of service to travelers while upholding strong sustainability and environmental credentials.
It specifically highlights the most reliable and efficient transportation companies serving tourism destinations across the continent.
Ethiopian pointed out “its extensive global network, coupled with its initiatives towards sustainability and dedication to service excellence, played a pivotal role in securing” the recognition.
“This recognition validates our unwavering commitment to providing our passengers with the highest quality of service and fostering sustainable tourism across Africa,” the CEO said.
He also added, “as a Pan-African and the largest network operator in Africa, our vision has always been to connect Africa to the world, and the world to Africa, and this recognition from ATLF encourages us to set the bar even higher.”
African Travel and Leadership Forum serves as a premier Pan-African platform, fostering dialogue among pivotal contributors to Africa’s travel, tourism, hospitality, and
aviation sectors.
Its ATLF Awards – known as the inaugural Pan-African accolades – recognise African-driven innovation, excellence, and transformative initiatives within the travel and tourism sphere.
Ethiopian airlines has at least 60 destinations in its African flight networks. Through its subsidiary Ethiopian Holidays, the airline provides an array of travel packages that are integrated with its vast destination network.
